The area along the I 69/US 59 corridor within Montgomery County, known as East Montgomery County or East County, is quickly becoming a magnet for development in the greater Houston region. Its proximity to Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston, the Port of Houston, downtown Houston and the Grand Parkway (currently under construction) make East Montgomery County attractive to businesses expanding or moving to the area.

SH 99 Segments F-1(US 290 to US 249), F-2 (US 249 to I 45) and G (I 45 to I 69/US 59) are scheduled to be open by late 2015, offering quick commutes for those working outside the area, like the new ExxonMobil campus in Spring (I 45) and as far away as the Sugar Land area.
